Birthday and forgetfulness

February 18, 2014

porcelain gold plates

It was my birthday at the weekend and I was back in London. I had a fab time.. even though it was drizzling for a lot of it in true British style! I had lots of delicious recipes planned for this week and tonight I made a delicious grilled seabass marinaded in lots of red chilli, tomato, coriander, ginger and more! However, I am a complete joke. I only went and left my camera charger at home. So when it came to taking photos of it all, my camera just flashed and said “replace battery pack”. SO annoying. Oh well.

So, I thought I would just share this photo of a lovely set of plates that my mum got me for my birthday. They each have something different written on them.

The small side plates say: “A little bit on the side”.

The medium plate says: “I am nothing but a simple plate, porcelain skin painted gold and blue, I am not a poet just a dish but I’ll leave that judgement up to you”

The large plate says: “I love the way you look at me, and the way you use your knife, I love the way you eat your food, you give meaning to my life”

Sorry for my disorganisation and for not having a recipe today. I will be back either tomorrow or the day after with some grilled fish recipe and maybe even a cheeky S’mores pie! But I hope you like the plates, they were on discount from Heals. I think they are the nicest plates I have ever had. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Happy birthday! These plates are super cute. I love the quotes.
Haha, I actually did the same last weekend – forgot my charger for my camera. I went to my grandmothers place and I had planned to cook a lot of delicious food and then photograph it. Well, I only managed to photograph one dish :O

Such pretty plates and a happy belated birthday. The weather in London is still pretty fickle. Can’t wait for proper Spring. x
