My friend Rapha lent me his guitar, so to say thanks I made him strawberry donuts. He was a fan! I love these because you don’t even need pink food colouring, the strawberries make the glaze go pink naturally! These are baked donuts, rather than fried. I prefer them. Whenever I make fried donuts, while it’s always a complete treat for the taste buds, it’s a complete nightmare to get the smell out of you hair and clothes for the next age.
They are incredibly easy to make, with no yeast involved. You will need a donut pan! But have no fear, if you really can’t get hold of a donut pan, you can always just make these into cupcakes or muffins instead. Not as unique maybe, but still just as divine. I was once again inspired by a recipe from Saveur Magazine. I have been so busy this week that I haven’t had much of a chance to sit down and create some recipes, so I thought I might as well learn some techniques from the experts.
